A question, an annotated draft, and a pencil represent thinking, writing, and refining an idea through conversation.
  • Writing, research, and decisions
  • Your files and Library as context
  • Models and tools you choose

Start with the work in front of you.

A report to understand. A decision to explain. A customer who needs a clear answer. Bring the question and its context into AI Chat, work through the hard part, and refine what you’ll share.

Get to a strong first draft

Bring your notes, audience, and goal. Shape a proposal, team brief, or customer reply around what the reader needs to know or do.

Make sense of the material

Ask about a file, compare sources, or unpack an unfamiliar idea. Add your documents and selected Library items as context.

Keep the final call yours

Ask for alternatives, challenge an assumption, or change direction. Review the reasoning and sources before you rely on the answer.

From a question to work you can use.

  1. Set the goal and context

Say what you need and who it’s for. Attach a supported file or pick Library items, then choose from the models and tools in your workspace.

  2. Work it through

Ask for a draft, explanation, comparison, or plan. Push on the part that matters and add constraints without starting over.

  3. Check it and keep going

Review the facts, assumptions, and wording. Pick the conversation up later, or branch it to try another approach.

Built for the whole workday.

A decision for you, a brief for colleagues, or an answer for a customer. Start with the task and the person who will use the result.

Writing and content

Turn notes into emails, proposals, help articles, scripts, and creative briefs. Announce a change to customers or prepare a team update.

Documents and files

Ask questions about supported documents, pull out the main points, and compare them. Then dig into the parts that need a closer look.

Research and synthesis

Compare the sources you provide, organize findings, and surface open questions. When your workspace has search tools enabled, add them and check the sources they return.

Reasoning and decisions

Lay out the options, constraints, and trade-offs. Ask what an answer assumes and test the details that could change your mind.

Planning and projects

Break a goal into a practical outline, prep a client meeting, or organize work across a team. Fit the plan to the time, people, and information you actually have.

Code and technical questions

Explain a snippet, work through a concept, or sketch an approach to a problem. Share the relevant code and constraints, then test the result in your own environment.

Give the conversation the right context.

Your files, Library, chat history, and available tools live in one workspace. Pick what the task needs.

Files for the question at hand
Attach supported files when the work depends on a specific document or image. Clear source material makes the answer easier to check.
Library for reference
Select ready Library items to bring the documents and knowledge you reuse into the conversation.
Text, images, video, and speech
Your workspace can offer models for text, image generation, video generation, and text-to-speech. Media output depends on the enabled tools, models, and providers.
Conversation memory
Set what the chat can recall: this conversation, your conversations, or workspace conversations. Keep past context relevant to the task.

Questions about AI Chat

How is AI Chat different from AI Agents?

AI Chat is a conversation you direct; an agent is a saved role. An agent bundles instructions, knowledge access, and selected tools, and AI Agents can be deployed to people on your website or in your application.

Can I ask questions about my files?

Yes. Attach files to a message or select Library items. Results depend on the file format, processing status, source quality, and the model you choose, so check important details against the original.

Can it search the web or use connected tools?

Yes, when your workspace has those tools enabled. Search and connected actions appear once the tool and any required connection are set up, so check the tool choices in each chat.

Can I keep working on a conversation later?

Yes. Chat history lets you return to a conversation, and you can branch from a finished message to try another approach without losing the original.

Can I use AI Chat for visual or audio content?

Yes, when the relevant models are enabled. Image, video, and text-to-speech options depend on the tools and providers in your workspace. Either way, AI Chat helps you develop the brief, script, or concept first.

Can I speak instead of typing?

Yes, you can dictate in browsers that support speech recognition. Review the text before you send it. Dictation is not a continuous spoken conversation.
