Finding the document is the easy part.
The real work comes next: comparing options for yourself, preparing a recommendation for a client, or answering a customer. Keep the documents next to the conversation. Compare what they establish, explain the differences, and make open questions visible.
Ask the question behind the search
Aim at a decision: what changed, how two options differ, which requirement applies. Follow up to test the reasoning.
Keep knowledge within reach
Reuse ready Library items across chats and agents. Product information, policies, reference documents, and Q&A go wherever the task needs them.
Know what to check next
Turn a pile of reading into findings, differences, and open questions. Open source references when the answer includes them, and go back to the original for details that matter.
From question to checkable answer.
Frame the question, pick the material
Say what you need to decide or understand. Attach files or select ready Library items, and note the version or time period that matters.
Compare and explain
Ask for a summary, a comparison, or a plain reading of a hard passage. Keep assumptions and gaps in view as you work.
Go back to the evidence
Check original sources, dates, calculations, and quotes. Then write the brief, draft the reply, or pick the next question to chase.
Research that ends in a decision.
Bring a clear question and the material that can answer it.
Product and policy questions
Find the answer in your own documentation and get it explained plainly. Confirm the source is current before it reaches a customer.
Supplier and proposal comparisons
Compare proposals against the same requirements. List differences, exclusions, and unclear terms for your own call, a team decision, or a client recommendation.
Project and meeting prep
Work through your notes, past decisions, and open issues. Build a brief that separates what’s agreed from what still needs attention.
Research for a draft or recommendation
Gather the points the writing must support. Organize the evidence before you ask for a polished draft, and keep unsupported claims out of the final text.
One Library. Many kinds of work.
Use Library material in AI Chat for your own questions. Give agents the right references for recurring team questions or for customer help through a configured deployment.
- Files and documents
- Upload reusable material or attach files to a single message. Items become selectable once they’re ready and processed in a supported format.
- Website content
- Add website content to the Library for reuse. Treat it as a source with its own collection date, not a live view of the site.
- Text snippets and Q&A
- Store a short explanation, known answer, or reference text when a full document is more than you need. Keep it specific to the question it answers.
- Sources you can inspect
- When a response includes URL or document references, the Sources action opens them. A citation is where checking starts, not proof the conclusion is right.
Questions about Knowledge & research
Is Library a separate Help.ai product?
No. Library is the shared workspace module for reusable knowledge. AI Chat and AI Agents both draw on it, so the same material works across them without a separate knowledge product.
Does every research question search the web?
No. Research can start from attached files and selected Library content. Live web search depends on the tools enabled for your workspace. Check sources and their dates when freshness matters.
Does every answer include citations?
No. The Sources action appears when URL or document references come back with the response. If a claim matters to your decision, open the original even when a source is listed.
Can I compare several documents?
Yes. Bring them in as attachments or Library selections and ask for a comparison against clear criteria. Processing support, file limits, and the selected model affect what fits in one task.
What happens when the sources disagree?
Ask for the disagreement to be stated outright, with the source, date, and assumptions behind each side. Use it to guide further checking; a smooth summary shouldn’t hide a real conflict.
