Connected workflows · Early access
Connect the account. Choose what the agent can do.
Link a question to a real next step. Give an agent the accounts, tools, and context for one task, then inspect what it did.

A connection is only as useful as the task.
Start with one repeated job: look something up, clarify a request, prepare a response, or run a supported action in another service. Give the agent the access, tool, and instructions that job needs. Help.ai keeps those choices next to the conversation. A connected account is not permission to do everything.
Bring the right service in
Use an authorized connection for a supported lookup or action. Get the person asking to their next step while the agent’s access stays tied to the job.
A defined set of tools
Select the enabled workspace tools and knowledge for the task. Skills package instructions and tool choices for recurring work.
See what happened
Inspect each tool’s inputs, result, or error in the conversation. When a step requests approval, review it and approve or reject it before it continues.
Start with one bounded workflow.
Pick the task, confirm the capability
Name the result you want and the exact service and action it needs. Check that the provider and tool are available in your workspace.
Connect, assign, instruct
Authorize the account, select the agent’s tools and knowledge, and write clear instructions. Keep access matched to the task.
Check the result before relying on it
Run the task in conversation. Handle any approval request, inspect the result, and fix missing information or a failed connection before moving on.
Connect help to the next piece of work.
The tool and its permissions decide what can happen. Start from one of these, then define and review your own workflow.
Look up information for a response
Combine Library knowledge with an enabled lookup or search tool. Make a decision, help a colleague, or answer a customer with what comes back.
Prepare a follow-up from the conversation
Draft a summary or reply from the discussion and its context. Sending it through another service needs its own supported action and permissions.
Collect the missing details
Ask a focused question, or use a structured form when the task needs consistent information. Check the details before the next step.
Support a repeatable customer task
Give a customer-facing agent the knowledge and enabled tools for a defined request. Keep your team involved when the request needs judgment or an unsupported action.
Four pieces, each with a job.
Connections, tools, knowledge, and Skills do different things. A good workflow makes each role explicit.
- Connected accounts
- Manage authenticated service connections and what each can do. Provider status and permissions decide which connection is usable, and for what.
- Agent tools and MCP connections
- Select enabled tools for an agent and configure supported MCP servers. The available catalog sets the integrations and actions you can build on.
- Reusable Skills
- Store task instructions and allowed tools in a workspace Skill. Apply it to the conversation or supported deployment where it belongs.
- Actions and approvals
- Tool cards show the proposed inputs and the returned outcome. Steps that request a decision show approval controls. A suggested next action on its own is not an executed workflow.
Questions about Connected workflows
Does connecting an account enable every action in that service?
No. The provider, the permissions you authorized, the available tools, and the agent’s configuration decide what it can do. Check the exact capability your workflow needs.
Is every provider shown in the catalog ready to connect?
No. The catalog can list providers that aren’t available yet. The connection screen shows each status and blocks unavailable entries, so build around the providers and sign-in methods your workspace can use.
Does every tool action require my approval?
No. Approval controls appear when a tool step requests approval, and not every tool is set up to ask. Review the selected tools and how they behave before you build a process on them.
Does this create scheduled or unattended automation?
No. Connecting an account doesn’t create a scheduled workflow. This page covers tools used inside supported conversations and agent flows. Confirm any specific automation, its trigger, and its actions before relying on it.
What if the connection or action fails?
The conversation shows the reported result or error. Check the connection and the required information, and treat a requested or suggested action as unfinished until its outcome is confirmed.
